[SPOILER ALERT: Do not watch the video if you have not seen Snowpiecer]
At a point during the film's development stage. I proposed an idea for the short film that was never made past the discussion.
Here's the deal. In the final scene, the protagonist finds the door to her house ajar. Upon entering her house, some noises will be heard coming from one of the kitchen with its door closed the entrance. My idea was to have the protagonist starting to panic after hearing the noise. She would have to make the choice to confront the mysterious noise or leave the house to get help.
So, how do you show character choice other than a boring dialogue? Answer: Left and right, that's it. It is one of the oldest trick in the book. Keep in mind that screen direction is a powerful tool. A character's choices can presented by having them to look and never needing any dialogue.
